Ruffin McNeill has the task of getting Texas Tech focused for its bowl game following the dismissal of head coach Mike Leach. McNeill will serve as interim coach for the Alamo Bowl against Michigan State.

Mark Ingram becomes the first Heisman Trophy winner in Alabama history, winning the honor in the closest voting in the awards 75-year history.

Four of the five Heisman Trophy finalists met the media in New York Friday, the day before college football's most coveted award is handed out. Commenting on the Heisman experience are Tim Tebow, Toby Gerhart, Mark Ingram and Ndamukong Suh.

Brian Kelly was introduced as the new coach at Notre Dame on Friday and said his dream job includes challenges that must be addressed to bring national championships back to the Fighting Irish.

Texas quarterback Colt McCoy picked up three awards Thursday. Fellow Heisman Trophy finalist Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh won two more awards Thursday. Notre Dame's Golden Tate won for best receiver.

Cincinnati officials confirmed Thursday that football coach Brian Kelly is leaving the program after three season to become the Notre Dame football coach.

Archie Griffin, the only two-time winner of the Heisman Trophy, thinks a running back will win the award, which will be handed out Saturday night in New York.

Sixteen players, including two Heisman Trophy winners, and two coaches were inducted Tuesday into the College Football Hall of Fame. Inductees include Tim Brown, Gino Torretta, Chris Spielman, John Robinson and Dick MacPherson.
